Sales Specialist to cover and grow FLS dry vacuum bookings focused on both OE and aftermarket business at Specialty Chemical / Pharmaceutical accounts within NA market. Region to cover is the North East area of the United States where pharmaceutical / fine chemical companies are traditionally located.
The Job consists primarily of OE and Upgrade projects, including PM, installation, training and start-up services, which provide for pull through and future AM opportunities. Controls and System installation / operation / safety upgrade support includes disciplines and expertise that are not primary role of current SE's.
Maintain and grow the existing installed base with focus on equipment, parts and field service. Grow with new customers with focus on offering competitor replacement solutions. The responsibility includes direct and indirect coverage. Primary role is to support end user sales engineers and distributors that have chemical accounts. The candidate will be responsible for continued improvement in sales coverage effectiveness, supporting key accounts in chemical market, help develop and support account action plans.
The proposed plan is to have the new Sales Specialist located in the North East area of the United States, working remotely to prospect and mentor other sales associates mainly in the states of VA, MD, NJ, OH, PA, MA, NY, NH, ME, Ontario, Canada. This focus will allow us to maintain our installed base as a platform to pursue business development opportunities at new customers, expanding our capabilities to grow with a focus on replacing competitor installations.
An ideal candidate has either a degree in engineering with 5 years’ experience in technical sales or a 10 years plus experience in sales of technical equipment. Experience in how to engage distributors is beneficial. Vacuum technology base knowledge is required. Candidates should have a "hands on" –practical- problem solving approach (i.e. the ability and willingness to provide pump commissioning support). Up to 60% overnight travel may be required. Experience and understanding in value selling prepositions is required.
Technical affinity to chemical processing and rotating equipment. Hands on approach when it comes to technical support. Strong in communicating with customers as well as sales personal / distributors. Practical problem solving attitude in all aspects –technical as well as in the selling process-. Open minded and flexible to create solutions that work beneficial for customers and for Flowserve. The growth potential in the chemical industry lies mostly in replacing competitors equipment due to Flowserve’s unique service concept, which allows for on site service as well as condition monitoring options.
