Position Description:

The Test Engineering Supervisor is responsible to work with subject matter experts to develop and manage design verification plans and work with the Test Associates to acquire data to validate the design, reliability, and performance of centrifugal pumps, the qualified candidate will work with the product design teams and planning to coordinate resources, develop test procedures, and execute the verification plans per schedule.

Essential functions

  • Provide leadership and teamwork.

  • Balance quality, productivity, safety, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve all areas.

  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular reports to manager.

  • Manage department priorities.

Responsibilities Include

  • Guide a team as well as individually adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Actively seeks and supports continuous improvements activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work and implement sustainable improvements

  • Implementation of procedural/policy changes to enhance department performance

  • Ensures task are completed within set deadlines

  • Works effectively in a multitask environment and consistently tracks the progress of ongoing initiative

  • Enforce safety policies and work habits

  • Monitor productivity making sure efficiency, cost and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met on a daily basis

  • Develops, supervises, coaches and counsels associates on a regular basis

  • Promote a teamwork environment

  • Step in as needed to be a hands on Supervisor

  • Work between tactical and strategic activities to support process improvement and Lean manufacturing practices

  • Develop and manage the Test Engineering Team to support production requirements

  • Serve as a technical liaison between design engineering teams, test associates, quality and production

  • Manage, analyze, and interpret test data to determine pass/fail criteria.

  • Improve communication and coordination between operations, engineering and order fulfillment

  • Understand and communicate test results with larger project teams and engineering leadership.

  • Understand facility and manpower requirements required for testing to aid in resource planning and budgeting.

  • Responsible for ensuring all requirements for the production functions are met.

  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating subordinates performance.

Position Requirements:

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required

2-4 years of experience in a Lead or Supervisory role within a manufacturing environment

Previous lead/supervision experience required.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed.

Physical ability to lift, stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment.

Communication and management skills.

Ability to manage, improve, carryout and prioritize departmental functions.

Driven, organized and detail orientated individual.


High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills.
