Position Description

Flowserve is looking for an Oracle Finance Business Analyst who will be based in Debrecen, Hungary, and will be part of the start-up of a Shared Service center for our $4.5B global U.S.-based company. As part of our long-term vision for the Flowserve Shared Service model, the Debrecen facility may potentially accommodate up to 400 employees over the next 3-5 years. This center will serve the North American and EMEA regions. Scope of work of the center will be Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Record to Report and other functions.

The Business Analyst is responsible for providing solutions for business requirements in Oracle EBS R12 modules. This includes involvement in the delivery of Oracle R12 enhancement project implementations in various regions, ensuring alignment with the Flowserve Global Business Process Standardization and corporate policies governance and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Define solutions for new Oracle business requirements and the development and maintenance of the MD 50’s/BR100’s in conjunction with the counterparts in the regions;

  • Work with business owners from numerous business units across the world (but with a strong focus on the EMEA region) to ensure business needs are met as we develop the requirements;

  • Support deployment of Flowserve ERP blueprint across the world;

  • Responsible for writing & maintaining test scripts to test solutions;

  • Responsible for ensuring UPK is kept current to the configuration;

  • Work closely with the production support team throughout the project life cycle to ensure a successful hand off to go live support;

  • Ensure project and process quality and support the continuous improvement process;

  • Enforce ERP Flowserve standards

Position Requirements

  • Proof of knowledge and experience with financial processes and US GAAP reporting standards

  • Proficiency in Oracle E-business Suite in GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed assets, Cost Management and SLA with the good understanding of interfaces between the subledgers and ledgers of Oracle eBS

  • Working experience in Oracle cost accounting concept

  • Working experience on similar capacity for more than 5 years with at least 2-3 implementation life cycles

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required (in English)

  • Business acumen with in depth understanding of accounting

  • Critical problem solving skills

  • Capable to troubleshoot and provide quality problems resolution

  • Capable to communicate with the Finance Community and understand their needs and translate them into practical solutions within Oracle eBS and within the boundaries of the defined Blue Print(s)

  • Excellent multi-tasking, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills


  • A degree in Finance

  • Experience with SOX / SOD

  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Project Costing and Oracle Project Billing

  • Working experience with SQL and Discoverer report will be an advantage

  • Manufacturing industry experience will be an advantage
