The Central Project Engineering department in Etten-Leur (12 FTE) provides engineering support to the EMA Aftermarket organization as part of Flowserve AMSS (Aftermarket Services & Solutions).
The Field Specialist conducts field measurements on pumps and pump systems for support of root-cause analysis, solution implementation and acceptance testing. This position requires an energetic self-starter who can manage travel (up to or over 50%), work in remote locations and meet customer requirements seamlessly. The Field Specialist reports to the Manager Engineering.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering;
5+ years related experience;
Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) certification, Green Belt minimum;
Experience in power plant, refinery or chemical plant operations;
Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition methods and data processing methods;
An in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment vibration monitoring and analysis is required, including but not limited to: vibration signatures, pulsation signatures, running mode analyses, experimental modal analyses;
Motivational skills and a strong sense of urgency to meet customer commitments in a timely and “exceeding expectations” manner;
Single-channel vibration measurements including; spectrum analysis, industry standards and machinery diagnostics.
Multi-channel vibration measurements including; ODS, modal analysis, waterfall plots, overall value trending.
Process parameters such as; flow, pressure, temperature, rpm (tachometer / key phasor).
Acclimates quickly to the variations in configuration and equipment found at different customer plants and sites;
Able to recognize equipment and process improvement opportunities, develop and execute the solution;
Demonstrates customer facing skills;
Very strong in making customer technical presentations;
Language skills: English and local language of the region/country.
Demonstrates expertise in performing high-end engineering analysis;
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of specific product lines;
Demonstrates subject matter expert knowledge of product development;
Represents Flowserve in industrial organizations;
Assists sales through customer presentations promoting FSG technology & application expertise;
Provides sales assistance for engineering consulting services for pump problem identification & solution as well as predictive & preventative maintenance programs;
Analyzes pump/system performance through in-field vibro-elastic & performance testing;
Performs system & operations analysis and determine impact of system variables;
Works with S&S Engineering, Product Engineering and corporate technology to determine “as needed” solutions to pump problems;
Prepares detailed, professional pump/system assessment reports;
Provides assistance in developing required work scope to solve equipment problems though pump/system/operations modifications & upgrades. Flowserve offers A great place to work.
