We are currently seeking a qualified Pump Design Engineering associate to d evelop new, or redesign existing engineered products, including design concepts & detailed layouts. You will u se 3D/CAD technology to prepare design drawings, and bills of materials for customer orders and manufacturing, in accordance with engineering specifications. The position requires an individual with strong mechanical aptitude and relentless attention to detail.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and prepare drawings, plans, layouts and BOM from engineering specifications.

  2. Operate 3D CAD station.

  3. Verify and implement drawing and BOM revisions due to engineering, customer and manufacturing changes.

  4. Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.

  5. Design pumps utilizing calculations to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and applicable codes.

  6. Prepare design layouts of pump designs in accordance with engineering specifications.

  7. Use MRP system for BOM entry.

  8. Recommend design modifications to improve standard products, and develop prototypes where applicable.

  9. Recommend design engineering procedure changes and improvements.

  10. Liaise with customer service, purchasing and p rovide technical instructions to shop floor regarding machining, assembling, testing, etc., as required.

  11. Documentation submittals and control related to projects being worked on

  12. Order management as required to ensure OTD of equipment and budgetary constraints are met

  13. Write equipment/component RFQ's to obtain vendor's quotes.

  14. Select appropriate equipment considering technical and economic issues.

  15. Review and approve all drawings and final B.O.M's

  16. Release product to manufacture and support fabrication with assistance when necessary.

  17. Facilitate project status meetings as required.

  18. Provide technical assistance to the field (answer customer and distributor questions regarding engineering details)

  19. Make suggestions to improve group efficiency and product quality.

Position Requirements:

Technologist Diploma from an accredited College/University in Mechanical Engineering

Detailed knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, design/drafting and industry standards are mandatory.

Working knowledge of MS Office and ISO procedures.

Strong mechanical aptitude, oral and written skills.

Preferences:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Membership in good standing with PEO or equivalent (ex. OACETT)

SAP experience is a plus

2-3 years experience in pump manufacturing and machine design is preferred.
