Owing to an increase in our order books, we are currently seeking an experienced mechanical engineer, who can make the requirements of our clients become a reality, as well as ensure compliance to regulations and ensure we are manufacturing using the latest, most effective and efficient methods and materials.
In this varied, and challenging role, you will perform product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement) to design products and systems that meet the needs and requirements of our clients, testing and evaluating different options to product effective solutions to problems.
You will then be responsible for evaluating the final products overall performance, reliability and safety.
Your workload will vary, from small, to medium sized projects and will also include the creation and modifications of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and the preparation of product reports, and associated documentation for regulatory compliance.
In order to be successful in this role, we believe you will require:
BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering - or be of degree calibre by experience.
Significant, demonstrable experience of moving mechanical products through a development lifecycle for bespoke applications.
Experience of working on Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). An understanding of Computional Fluid Dynamics (CFD) would be advantageous.
Materials science and mecahnics is a key element of this position, so demonstrable experience and application of knowledge in this area is key.
Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) as well as familiarity with 2D and 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD and Inventor) and Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (MathCAD, Excel, etc)
Any experience of working with SAP would also be of great help to the successful applicant.
Team player who will integrate well with the other engineers.
