Position Description:

Basic Function:

The market modeling and insights manager is responsible for developing a market model as well as executing customer, topical, business partner, and product insight summaries using diverse research sources. The manager is responsible for providing guidance to the team of market insights analysts, developing standard and repeatable processes and approaches to market analysis. This position will report to the Oil and Gas Industry Director.

· Develop a market model using external market data and validation points from internal data sources

· Develop alignment on the model basis and outputs with industry leaders and executives

· Coordinate synthesis for long-term planning input

· Coordinate with internal industry leaders and consultants in the development of topical summaries required by specific client groups

· Manage vendors and projects outsourced to third-party suppliers of primary and secondary research

· Work with research managers on research and questionnaire design and analysis plan when it affects later synthesis

· Develop mechanisms to deliver information, including grids and dashboards

· Conduct market sizing/opportunity studies to identify new growth markets and segments

· Ensure high-quality research reports by integrating relevant insights from primary and secondary sources; familiar with voice of customer techniques

· Identify “hot” opportunities that may be of interest to Flowserve using various sources

· Present research syntheses, as required, to targeted audiences

· With industry leaders/consultants, track successes in influencing business decisions

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, statistics or related discipline required

· Master’s degree/MBA preferred

· 10 to 15 years primary/syndicated research experience

· Five to 10 years online research experience

· 10 to 15 years data analytics, modeling and reporting experience

· Strong background in knowledge management

· Previous sales enablement and/or channel marketing experience a plus

Required Skills:

· Highly analytical

· Strong communicator, especially in written form

· Able to take market research and insights and weave them into critical b-to-b sales/marketing/product deliverables (e.g. market analyses)

· Selection and management of third-party research vendors

· Can work across business units to connect with sales resources, buyers and channel partners

Preferences:

· Experience with primary/secondary research methods, both offline and online

· Familiarity with industry-standard assessment models

· Experience with statistical/analytics packages

· Deep knowledge of Flowserve target market segments and customer personas
