Position Description

The Payroll Analyst will contribute to the activities of payroll for their assigned region on a daily basis. The Payroll Analyst will complete the bi-weekly payroll accurately by auditing and ensure payroll is processed and submitted by set deadlines. Once payroll is closed all electronic paper payroll distributions are completed. Administer benefits for all employees within your assigned region. The Payroll Analyst will contribute to issue resolution within Tier II and will support the Service Delivery (SDM) and provide effective and timely solutions to HR Operations and all Flowserve employees. The Payroll Analyst will also collaborate with HR Representatives on simplifying and standardizing processes in payroll compliance and non-payroll compliance.

Customer Service : Communicate with all levels of the organization effectively by responding in a timely manner and providing friendly customer service.

Timekeeping: Collect and enter all payroll time logs, time corrections and all other electronic paper files related to the company’s weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll process.

Payroll Processing: Complete weekly, bi-weekly semi-monthly and monthly payroll accurately and ensure processed and submitted by payroll set deadlines.

Payroll Compliance: Ensure compliance with existing controls including SOX compliance, internal audit, Flowserve policies, payroll procedures, and federal and state laws.

Payroll/Benefits: Administer benefit processing for all employees. Additional duties may involve supplying employees with manuals, booklets, forms, provider information, and any other relevant information regarding benefits.

Timekeeping

a. Review timecards to identify any errors and ensure all hours have been approved for processing in payroll. Contact the employee/manager of any timekeeping errors.

b. Perform as the SME of the timekeeping process and the timekeeping system. Perform manual updates to employee timecards and provide updates to the system setup tables when needed.

c. Provide standard timekeeping reports such as system access, attendance history, or bank history reports when requested.

Payroll Processing:

Assist in closing weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly

a. payroll for assigned regions by performing all data collection, reconciliation.

b. Collect and process all employee personnel information changes including job status, LOA status, PTO forms, personal information changes, pay rate changes and employee bonuses.

c. Serve as an escalation point for employees by identifying payroll or personnel information issues and addressing them to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

d. Meet all service level requirements for Payroll and the Flowserve Service Delivery Model (SDM).

Compliance/Reporting

a. Review and audit all hours, earnings, deductions, manual checks, and special actions prior to each payroll processing.

b. Implement any new payroll policies or procedures to ensure that Flowserve’s payroll processes are up-to-date and address the company’s changing requirements.

c. Implement any new federal, state and local mandates regarding employment law, hours worked and employment tax calculations for the assigned region.

d. Ensure SOX compliance including internal audits and adhere to all Flowserve policies and payroll procedures.

e. Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports

f. Collaborate with HR Representatives on all compliance matters with payroll and Human Resources.

Payroll/Benefits

a. Communicate to all employees on payroll and benefit updates by distributing manuals, forms or information provided by the vendor.

b. Communicate annual benefit changes. Answer all employee questions effectively and in a timely manner.

c. Ensure all employee benefit information is processed accurately and timely according to the set payroll schedule

Position Requirements

Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)

The successful contributor in this role should demonstrate proficiency in the following:

Excellent communication skills both oral and written and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Must have 0-5 years of payroll experience

  • Basic tax knowledge required

  • Payroll system (ADP) knowledge experience is highly desirable

  • Benefit experience

  • Must have strong ethical standards

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a cooperative team approach

  • Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must

  • Action oriented and customer focused

  • Must be organized and have strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet deadlines internal as well as external deadlines

  • Must have a good knowledge of local HR related compliance laws and regulations

  • Must have a good understanding of SOX requirements as it pertains to payroll, employee data and benefits
