Effectively provide key operational leadership and management for the Flowserve Flow Control business based in Lynchburg, VA. Develop and execute the annual operations plan to meet or exceed all financial and performance objectives. Oversee all manufacturing activities to insure a safe work environment, a quality product, and on-time customer service. Lead a team in the management of order processing, planning & scheduling, supply chain, inventory, CIP, machining, assembly, shipping, EH&S and facilities management. Investigate, develop, and implement improved processes and procedures to promote increased efficiency, productivity, and profitability across the business. Motivate, challenge and develop key leaders to drive a strong performance culture as well as a culture of process improvement. Interact and collaborate with managers throughout the organization in order to deliver performance that aligns to the Company’s strategic vision while improving the overall customer experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES
Insure that all safety and health procedures and policies are followed and all Flowserve guidelines are implemented toward creating/maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Engage in the development/execution of site P&L and balance sheet objectives.
Deliver on all financial and operational performance metrics.
Provide weekly, monthly, and annual operational performance reports
Execute short and long term strategic plans
Collaborate with engineering, commercial operations, sales, service, and quality to drive workflow and efficiency improvements as well as drive “best practices” and accountability throughout the business.
Develop and implement process changes that continuously improve order processing and on-time delivery while reducing costs & product lead-times.
Optimize and align operations by managing and executing to customer expectation.
Develop and implement capital spending plans that meet the ongoing needs of the business for facilities, equipment, and productivity improvements.
Effectively manage material supply chain. Optimize inventory and insure proper controls and reporting, develop and manage replenishment agreements, and minimize production delays caused by material shortages.
Manage all aspects of production such that employees and processes adhere to the requirements of the Quality Manual standards and procedures.
Assure all products and services provided by operations meet applicable quality and safety requirements.
Assess operations staffing and skill requirements. Provide leadership and personnel development as required to achieve performance goals and objectives.
Enforce work rules fairly and consistently throughout the manufacturing organization. Will be the main contact for the Union on second step grievances.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - BS/MS in Engineering, MBA a plus. Degree in Business Management also considered. - Minimum seven (5) years’ experience in leadership positions. - Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with engineered products. - Highly inquisitive with strong analytical skill set to drive workflow and process improvement throughout the operation. - Strong proactive & collaborative approach to identifying and solving issues. - Union experience preferred. - Materials management experience, including “lean” methodologies, MRP, planning/scheduling, and purchasing. - Experience and success in developing and implementing “lean” manufacturing processes. - Demonstrated history of driving improvements and achieving measurable results in a make-to-order (MTO), engineer-to-order (ETO) production environment. - Understanding of ISO quality management and SOX compliance - Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. - Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. - Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 20% or more at times. .
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This position has supervisory responsibilities for 100+ employees including 7-8 direct reports
