Position Description


Travel to customer locations and perform troubleshooting / repair services on electric and or pneumatic actuation products. Train customer / end-user on use and maintenance of actuation products.

While under the general direction of the Field Service Manager, with defined departmental objectives and goals, this position must be capable of working independently in the execution of the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform all functions in a safe manner and promote a culture of safety

  • Troubleshoot, repair and assist customers with service issues regarding electric and pneumatic actuation products in a quick, professional, courteous and a cost effective manner

  • Work or interface with instrumentation and control engineers and electricians on site during commissioning and start-up of actuators

  • Create and attach to the service ticket database a detailed service report clearly describing work performed on site and including all relevant information such as order & serial numbers of units worked on, pictures, control systems, details of work performed, environmental information, parts used, etc.

  • Partner with representative sales team and leadership to support bookings growth

  • Act as the site liaison with the customer

  • Create and submit a detailed and timely expense report for each completed job

  • Attend and participate in all assigned training courses.

Position Requirements


  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical repair of valves and valve operators

  • Be able to travel 80-90% of the time – including possible weekends and holidays

  • Be able to travel or switch travel plans at a moment’s notice

  • Must have a current Passport or ability to obtain a Passport for International Travel

  • Strong PC skills including experience with MS OFFICE

  • Demonstrate knowledge of electricity and electronics. (Minimum of ASET preferred, or equivalent military electronics background.)

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

  • Technical understanding of valve actuators, valves and controls

  • Ability to communicate in written and verbal formats

  • Ability to work independently

  • Good time management skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work with high voltages (115V AC to 600V AC) three phase

  • Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and overall system drawings

  • Experience with the use of Oscilloscope, Process meter/4-20mA, Loop Tester, Signal Generator and Power Analyzer

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex industrial controls

  • Ability to communicate with people from various cultures and nations

  • Ability to lift limited weights is required

  • Ability to work at heights and in enclosed spaces



  • Have at least, two years of field experience with valve actuator service

  • Have at least an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with industrial network protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus based protocols) would be a plus
