Position Description

The Field Parts Specialist position is responsible for meeting/exceeding the annual regional parts bookings within the given territory, through effective management and use of all available FLS parts support resources. Leading opportunity identification, and coordinated sales strategy development, the Field Parts Specialist will also ensure timely quotations, and accurate monthly/quarterly forecasting and alignment with the parts operational team.

Position Requirements

•Good communication skills both verbal and written.

•Positive, flexible attitude with strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-motivation

•Experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a background in aftermarket development is preferred.

•PC literate – MS Office, include Excel skills & computerized sales systems.

•Relevant commercial experience.

•Proven time management and organizational skills.

•Ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within the business.

•Knowledge of rotating equipment & ability to read design drawings would be an advantage but not necessary.

Communications:

The Field Parts Specialist is to maintain constant contact with all Sales Engineers within the region, ensure a coordinated alignment with end user parts market penetration efforts.

The incumbent is to be the regional driver with end user customer parts program promotions as well as strategic marketing efforts. The Field Parts Specialist is expected to make end user sales calls to ensure the key decision makers are understood and a positive working relationships with Flowserve is established and maintained. The incumbent’s customer facing activities may include overnight travel, joint selling activities with both BU and Sales personnel, as well as sales calls made by the Field Parts Specialist only.

The incumbent is expected to be well versed with personnel computers and their use for both internal and external professional communications.

  1. Product Knowledge:

The Field Parts Specialist is expected to understand the basic needs of parts consumption within the Flowserve pump product lines. In addition, the incumbent is expected to be well versed with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and Flowserve’s Cobra system.

  1. Application Knowledge:

The incumbent is responsible for correctly interpreting the end user’s technical specifications and commercial requirements. This will involve interfacing with various Flowserve support teams to ensure the adequate consideration of all technical, quality, legal, marketing and production schedule factors.

  1. Quota:

The Field Parts Specialist is to meet or exceed all assigned parts sales forecasts within the region. The incumbent is also to expand the use of blanket parts agreements, customer specific parts programs and SPIRs to increase customer parts bookings year over year.

  1. Quote Management:

The Field Parts Specialist is to solicit spare parts orders, with the highest profit margin available, in accordance with Flowserve objectives. The timely follow up of outstanding proposals, in conjunction with the Sales Engineer, is also expected. The incumbent is expected to understand end user specifications and any financial impact to Flowserve regarding customer terms and conditions.
