Position Description

The Shipping & Receiving

Clerk ensures the on-time flow of goods and materials from Receiving, through

our repair shop, to Shipping, and finally to our customers. The Clerk does this

by physically unpacking, moving, and packing materials; maintaining accurate,

organized records; and troubleshooting problems with shipping services.

Position Requirements


Skills/Education: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 3-5 years of

shipping/receiving experience, preferably in an industrial/industrial services

or manufacturing environment. • Lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds will be

required on a daily basis. • Computer literate. Previous experience with the

online systems of FedEx, UPS and other carriers highly desired • ERP experience preferably Oracle • Strong attention to detail, so as to check

part numbers, to compare purchase orders to packing slips, and to write down

correct addresses and dates • Must be able to multitask quickly, without

missing steps or dropping tasks, while meeting deadlines with minimal

supervision • Have a motivated, engaged, customer-service focus • Ability to

maintain professional relationships with customers and coworkers. • Must have

strong computer skills including MS office applications (e.g., MS Outlook, MS

Excel). • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned projects within time

constraints and with minimal assistance. • Must be willing to work overtime

hours including weekends & holidays as required.


Duties: • Accurately

and consistently follow detailed procedures in order • Maintain organized,

current paper files so that others can locate paperwork quickly • Receive and

unpack shipments, check for accuracy, and correctly record the shipment. • Use

precision measurement tools, inspect received parts and materials to ensure

that they meet specifications. • Load and off-load large equipment using proper

rigging, and hand tools. • Load and unload trucks using a forklift, and safely

move materials within the facility • Promptly report problems with received

goods to Buyer • Create, update, and process paper and online shipping and

receiving records from domestic and international suppliers and customers • Use

business systems to obtain correct freight pricing and billing. • Maintain

shipping department to 6S standards. • Participate in daily accountability

meeting to understand daily schedule and report issues. • Coordinate pickups,

track shipments, and troubleshoot problems by contacting suppliers and shipping

companies • Use forklifts and cranes to load / unload products as needed. •

Perform stockroom tasks, such as picking orders correctly and quickly, and

cycle counting • Exhibit behavior that encourages teambuilding,

decision-making, problem solving and continuous improvement. • Communicate

clearly and work professionally with colleagues throughout the service center

and Flowserve, vendors and customer facilities. • After training, executing

proper export processes, ensuring that site handles all exports per regulatory

requirements and Flowserve’s export policies. • Responsible for working on

service center related projects as requested and with minimal assistance.
