Position Description

The Life Cycle Advantage (LCA) Operations Manager EMA’s primary responsibility is to provide strong technical leadership to end-user regional Sales & Operations teams through established “best practices” and provide standardization of effort throughout all Life Cycle Advantage sites for Seals & Pumps. The incumbent is expected to administer and promote positive change within the assigned region while ensuring Flowserve and customer commitments are achieved. The incumbent will report directly to the Director & General Manager Operations and Sales, and be part of a team of Regional LCA Operations Managers. This role can be filled at any Flowserve facility in the EMA region.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related qualifications is preferred;

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Seal and/or Rotating Equipment Industries;

  • Customer focus and good teamwork skills;

  • Previous experience managing people resources;

  • Must have excellent PC skills and be completely familiar with the local business systems and all internal systems and reports;

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be effective in stressful situations;

  • Must have good commercial skills to support sales when interacting with the customer;

  • Be able to demonstrate a capability to handle / manage multiple tasks and demonstrate responsiveness to tight deadlines;

  • Past experience of developing and building multidiscipline teams & cultures is preferred;

  • Excellent in the English language;

  • Willing to travel (up to 75%).

Preferences

  • Build LCA Business Plans that should be the basis of the yearly LCA Balanced Scorecard and Financial Plans (Gross Margin in FF & B&S Growth through additional business, Change-Outs);

  • Work with local Operations & Sales and LCA Management to ensure Flowserve meets its contractual commitments to the end users by working closely with Operations & Sales to meet all Site Financial, Customer Satisfaction, Business Plans, Operational KPI’s and MTBR goals;

  • Lead outstanding customer communication through quarterly metric driven Alliance meetings;

  • Accountable for coaching and training Regional LCA Operations Managers, Reliability Engineers (RE) & On-Site Application Engineers (OSAE) in support of key LCA initiatives and strategies to support existing and new LCA clients;

  • Lead a culture of ongoing development for yourself and individuals within your team with objectives to expand FLS organizational capability and retain/cultivate our talent succession plans are in place for your role and identified key roles within your team;

  • Act as a mentor to Regional LCA Operations Managers, RE’s, OSAE’s and Sales Engineers with regards to implementing strategic world class Alliances through established LCA Best Practices;

  • Promote Global Resolution of Bad Actors & Up-grades (pump compressor, mechanical seals, pumps and systems, intelligent technology);

  • Interface with regional Flowserve management to identify underperforming LCA locations and proactively coordinate action plans to drive improvements;

  • Act as lead on implementation of new programs and aid in the transition from contract to site implementation;

  • Coordinate establishment of key performance indicators (KPI) at each alliance site; Coordinate monitoring of KPI’s with site SE's and/or OSAE's and assure that each site has tabulated the financial benefit of the alliance to the user;

  • Assure that FSD’s market share growth commitment at each alliance site is achieved; Together with Operations & Sales Management, establish market share growth objectives, through competitor's change-outs, each year for each regional alliance site;

  • Manage the scorecard process within the assigned region to ensure that a scorecard for each assigned alliance location is prepared quarterly on an equitable basis;

  • Provide training and instruction as required for sales personnel to ensure that the requirements are well understood;

  • Ensure quality of QRC / engineering / service support at alliance sites;

  • Aid in the development of new LCA initiatives and help identify short and long-term growth opportunities for Flowserve;

  • Work closely with LCA Development Management;

  • Active participation on the local / regional S&OP forecasting process, by supporting and driving market-share, revenue and profitability growth initiatives in a financially sound manner.
