Position Description


The Tax Specialist will be part of the China Tax Team,responsible for all legal entities in Mainland China and Taiwan. He/she willact as trusted adviser in complex Chinese tax issues including tax riskmanagement, tax compliance, tax planning and supporting different internalstakeholders on tax queries relating to their day-to-day business. The TaxSpecialist will be the primary contact person for tax authorities and should beexperienced in communication with respective local authorities. The TaxSpecialist will be engaged in projects identifying and implementing taxplanning opportunities. Experience in income tax, indirect tax, andinternational tax is expected. A broader understanding of the various tasks andfunctions of a Finance Department would be helpful since a close collaborationwith other finance functions will be part of the role. The position will belocated in Flowserve China’s office in Shanghai.


Tax Compliance

  1. Review tax filingson a periodical basis and ensure that internal/external tax filing/returns arein order;

  2. Assist Finance toprepare Annual Corporate Income Tax return and solve queries raised by taxauthority;

  3. Be responsible fortax audits and internal tax health check to identify tax compliance issues aswell as tax opportunities together with effective solutions;

  4. Assist Finance tohandle tax clearance of outbound remittance to settle the inter-company balanceand put all the supporting documentation in place;

  5. Be responsible forvarious statistical reports requested by China competent authorities fortracking High-New Technology Enterprise certificate and Technology AdvancedService Enterprise certificate status;

  6. Keep closeconnection with the finance teams to ensure the tax compliance consistentacross the China legal entities;

  7. Negotiate with Chinatax authorities for favorable tax rulings if applicable;

  8. Track tax risks andexposures for FN 48 tax provision purpose.

Transfer Pricing

  1. Assist to preparethe transfer pricing documentations in time and identify the potential TPissue;

  2. Support on thedefense during transfer pricing tax audit/challenge from tax authorities;

  3. Other support on TPissue.

Tax Planning and Project Management

  1. Support on R&Dexpense super-deduction and assist the finance team to collect qualifiedR&D expense;

  2. Support on High-NewTechnology Enterprise and Technology Advance Service Enterprise projects tosustain favorable Corporate Income Tax rate;

  3. Assist in indirecttax exemption on cross-border service;

  4. Support on study andapplication for financial subsidies and other tax incentives;

  5. Support on M&Aprojects, including tax impact comparison, implementation, tax disputessettlement, etc.;

  6. Assist to identifytax planning opportunities and work with the teams to implement the ideas;

  7. Provide the ad-hocconsulting in various tax advisory projects;

  8. Quick adaptation tochanges in tax laws or business models; draft change management plans and identifycost effective solutions.


  1. Monitor changes andupdates in local tax legislation and advise tax team and BUs of the potentialtax impact;

  2. Provide tax brief tothe tax team on a regular basis;

  3. Communicate andcoordinate with tax bureau to maintain the relationship;

  4. Liaise with externalagent and internal teams to achieve the target of tax related projects;

  5. Develop and documentinternal tax management reports and set up company tax related files;

  6. Facility trainingon tax related matters.

Position Requirements



  1. Education in Tax,

Finance or Accounting. A CPA, qualified Tax Adviser or similar certification

with focus on taxation is favorable;

  1. 3 to 4 years working

experience in tax consulting; corporate experience is a plus;

  1. Experience in international

taxation is required;

  1. Strong pro-active

project management skills as well as innovative ''solution seeker'' rather than

a ''problem definer'' attitude;

  1. Ability to work

independently and under time pressure;

  1. Ability to

anticipate and manage change;

  1. Team player with

good interpersonal and communication skills;

  1. Ability to work in a

diverse and international team;

  1. Fluently in English

and Mandarin.


Prefer candidates come from Firms and has exactly tax advising experience in TAX Compliance
