The Precision Assembly technician is responsible for assembly, functional testing, and pressure testing of threaded/welded piped and tubed auxiliary support systems in accordance with job specifications, general assembly drawings, piping and instrumentation drawings, and written test procedures.
Assemble and test auxiliary pump and seal support systems to engineering standards while maintaining quality specifications.
Ability to follow work instructions to include engineering specs, prints, and quality documents.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble various size components is required.
Will be required to work with other support departments.
Perform necessary housekeeping and safety duties as required.
Daily use of electric power and pneumatic tools.
This position may require material handling tasks. Must be willing to move to other areas of the plant as needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have 3+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency in tube bending is required
Experience with functional testing systems is required.
Prior technical experience including operating hand and power tools, grinders, general assembly, and P&ID required.
Able to read/interpret engineering drawings.
Able to use basic gauging such as calipers and micrometers.
Must be willing to work multiple shifts and overtime, if necessary.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Lifting devices/aids will be provided for heavier objects.
Must be able to operate and maneuver around machinery safely to protect yourself and coworkers.
Lifting, bending, twisting of shoulders and use of arms in an outreaching position is required.
Daily use of torque tightening equipment and manual dexterity is required.
Standing and walking throughout the work area is required.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good communication/interpersonal skills.
Strong self-motivation, willingness to learn, and work ethics.
Demonstrated competency in inspection/self-inspection techniques
Prior mechanical/technical background, assembly, shipping and inspection experience is essential.
