An experienced shop mechanic in a pump service center is responsible for disassembly, repair and assembly of pumps and decoking equipment. The mechanic is an expert in the use of precision inspection equipment (micrometers, gages, etc.) to measure dimensions of pump components and assemblies. The Customer Product Repair Mechanicuses procedures and craftsmanship to disassemble, repair and assemble pumps, and completes all related documentation. As a senior mechanic, the Customer Product Repair Mechanic is expected to have experience with many product lines and be able to instruct less experienced team members in their craft. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager at our Beaumont, TX, pump repair Quick Response Center (QRC).
The Mechanic duties include, but not limited to:
Follows instruction from pre-job briefings and SOD (Sales Order Draft) and router to perform DCI (Dismantle Clean and Inspect) and gives a written description of the wear and condition of critical components.
Cleaning each part to be reused, and documenting the condition of components.
Using hand torches and liquid nitrogen when appropriate in the teardown process.
Inspecting components/assemblies accurately and precisely, and clearly recording the results of these inspections. This includes fits, clearances and TIR.
Taking pictures to document condition and process.
Communicating clearly and professionally with production planners and customers to discuss the component and pump conditions.
Coordinate and interface with sales, operations, engineers, and customers as necessary

Uses inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components and translates the number (in decimal) form to the appropriate inspection form related to the pump.
Assemble the pump following assembly procedures specific to the product, complete all inspection forms taking pictures of all critical components, and uses inspection equipment for proper documentation of the assembly.
Paint, install all tagging, and prep the pump prior to shipment to the customer.
High School diploma or equivalent.
5+ years' mechanical experience or comparable experience within the aftermarket/end-user organization working with pumps or rotating equipment.
Must have personal set of mechanic tools (critical measuring tools will be supplied by the company).
Must be able to work a rotating shift, overtime and weekends when necessary.
Attention to detail and process oriented with results driven background.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal Solid organizational skills, able to problem solve, and prioritize work assignments.
Able to stand for long periods and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
