Flowserve is looking for a hands-on, experienced Sales Engineer to sell pumps, mechanical seals, and aftermarkets services to the existing power generation market in the New England area. The selected candidate should reside in this region. The forward-thinking Sales Engineer will create a lasting competitive advantage for Flowserve by understanding our products/services, and their applications in our customers’ operations. The position has a base salary, with sales incentives. A company car is included in a comprehensive benefits package. Up to 50% travel is required.
Maintain regular, planned communication with customers in the territory. Make direct, in-person sales calls. Respond quickly and thoroughly to customers' inquiries. Achieve sales objectives, including bookings and growth. Collaborate with application engineers, customer service, and manufacturing to ensure Flowserve is meeting the customers’ needs, resolving corrective actions, and fulfilling our commitments. Will be accountable as the account manager to help resolve all issues.
Provide value to customers with industry intelligence, financial understanding, technical expertise and a deep knowledge our Flowserve’s products and services. Proactively engage with customers in discussions to resolve their technical challenges
Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with regional sales objectives to support larger organizational goals. Maintain organized records in the Company's customer relationship management (CRM) tool. Prepare regular reports as required regarding customer contacts, quotes, status, actuals, expenses, etc.
BS in Engineering or related degree. Equivalent combination of education/experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills.
Proactive, self-starter with a hands-on approach to solving problems.
Acceptable driving record
Up to 50% travel to client sites and satellite locations within designated territory.
Overnight stays as required by territory demand.
Some physical activity required (e.g., walking large customer sites, lifting at least 50 lbs, and ascending/descending ladders and staircases in multi-story, industrial facilities).
3+ years sales experience with industrial equipment
Experience with Customer Relationships Management (CRM) software
Industrial sales experience with a track record of self-initiated, sustained sales success
Demonstrated skills in leading meetings, including setting agendas, preparing, facilitating discussions, and assigning follow up activities
Training in sales techniques, negotiations, and business finance
Knowledge and experience selling parts, repairs and service
