Pittsburgh Parts Manufacturing Center (PMC)

3 rd Shift Production Supervisor

This position will be responsible for managing all shop floor activities pertaining to operations at the Pittsburgh Parts Manufacturing Center. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Job Summary

The 3 rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for planning and directing resources to achieve zero accidents, planned shipments, on-time delivery, quality levels, and productivity improvements. Responsibilities also include: Driving CIP initiatives to improve work place organization and to streamline processes, communicating and enforcing company policies, ensuring employees are trained in established processes and procedures and that all safety and quality practices are followed.

Leadership

Serve as the driving leadership for your respective organization in your area of responsibility. Fully organize, develop and utilize the resources available to achieve business objectives for the PMC and SSO. Lead by example to ensure employees work as a cohesive team with a positive, can-do attitude towards goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures of the corporation.

Place customers first by consistently improving customer satisfaction survey levels, OTD, and reducing cycle times. Drive continuous improvement in organization structure and performance. Continuous Improvement/ Compliance

Drive support of the key objectives of Flowserve into the group which includes, working to achieve yearly targets, OTP targets, and overall operational excellence. Consistently lead Corrective Action Requests - takes initiative outside direct area of responsibility to drive quality improvements in organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that time and attendance requirements are accurately maintained for all 3 rd shift employees. (11:30PM – 7:30AM)

  • Ensure that direct labor goals and supporting activities are met by accurately completing Oracle R12 record keeping including clock-in/clock-out.

  • Responsible and accountable for the shop manufacturing operations.

  • Assure compliance with all quality requirements.

  • Ensure that job routers are reviewed and issues resolved prior to release to the shop floor.

  • Work with engineering on issue resolution as required.

  • Effectively lead and manage people resources as measured by safety performance, turnover and employee development.

  • Manage shop resources to meet deliverables.

  • Meet or exceed on-time performance plan to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly shipment, quality and on-time delivery plans.

  • Drive CIP culture throughout organization.

  • Perform all mid-year and end of the year performance appraisals in a timely manner.

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervisory role preferred.

· Manufacturing environment supervisory experience a plus.

· Sound understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.

· Excellent communication, leadership, planning and organizational skills.

  • Must be familiar with part machining of very tight tolerances on Conventional and CNC machines

  • Understanding of Welding and Heat Treating processes

  • Strong computer skills – Including a strong understanding and exposure to Oracle R12, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.

Preferences:

· Good working knowledge of Flowserve product lines.
