Position Description:

The Strategic Initiatives Leader, in collaboration with cross functional teams, including but not limited to Marketing & Technology, Engineering, Operations, Finance, develops plans and manages the execution of project initiatives for the FPD Supply Chain organization. This role is responsible for the tactical execution Supply Chain activities for major initiatives including Design to Value projects, New Product Introduction, efficiency improvement initiatives, transfer of work, working with key stakeholders across the business with the goal of growing business efficiencies.


  • Oversees all aspects of the Initiative throughout the lifecycle working in partnership with department leadership, Operations team, Project Management Office and IT organizations as needed.

  • Establishes project charter, works with steering committees and manages budget

  • Creates tactical plans to execute strategy with clear lines of accountability

  • Ensures that initiatives deploy adequate quality assurance

  • Project deliverables and outcomes are implemented on time, on budget, and within scope to meet the expectations of the client i.e. the Project Sponsor and Owner

  • Develops communications as required to ensure organization has a clear understanding of the group’s business objectives, strategies, plans and accomplishment.

  • Coordinates communication forums as well as supporting documentation to provide transparency on objectives, progress against these objectives, recognizing team members accomplishments and milestones.

  • Leverages a change framework to ensure more effective change and transition for the projects and change efforts

  • Build relationships with other functional change champions

  • Understanding and utilizing the right communication media and content for efficiency and ease of adopting change

  • Partners with Change Advisory network to increase collaboration and two-way communication

  • Provide leaders with valuable insights into functional change implications and considerations when planning for changes.

  • Customer/Provider Relationship Management – Build rapport with internal and external partners, including other departments. External partners may include service providers, vendors, external technology partners.

  • Assess and evaluate vendor options and performance levels of existing vendors

Position Requirements:

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, not mandatory

  • Category Management/Supply Chain Experience at Regional/Global Level of 8 to 10 years

  • 5+ Years experience managing programs or companywide strategic projects

  • Experience in Technical aspects of Foundry Castings , OSM , Forgings and Fabrications, motors, preferred

  • Ability to work in a Matrix and Network Organizational Model

  • Certification in Project Management preferred

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or Safe-Agile Project management methodology

  • Strong interpersonal skills-ability to influence, work effectively and collaborate across the organization

Position can be based at any FLS location in Eastern Europe.
