Position Description:

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for product line engineering for assigned quarter turn valves. The Senior Product Engineering role entails activities dealing with issues of product design and manufacturing, sales / quoting support, production costs, feasibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability and customized user features. Addressing these product characteristics includes product and component design, development, transitioning of the product to manufacturing, and supporting the sales and service teams in quoting and repairing the product.

Job Functions:

  • Manages design projects involving complex designs, including oversight of resources and technical issues

  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple product lines, interfacing with sales, manufacturing, quality and other plant personnel as needed to support assigned product lines.

  • Develops engineering standards and work procedures

  • Ensures on-time performance of assigned tasks

  • Successfully implements project deliverables

  • Drives product cost reduction

  • Leads time reduction activities

  • Provides engineering analysis quality

  • Provides responses to internal and external customer feedback

Position Requirements:

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.

Experience/Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a high temperature ball valve design preferred. Product engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously utilizing advanced project management tools, methods, and applications

  • Familiarity with and understanding of various International Standards relating to valves

  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)

  • Computer-Assisted Design/3-Dimensional design, Solid works and/or Inventor

  • Engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerance

  • Effective oral and written communications

  • Experience in driving down product cost through tools such as VaVe, design to value, etc.

  • Collaborative interpersonal skills

  • Accountability and execution for completing work timely and to specifications

  • Recognized as a qualified engineer by external certifying bodies, as indicated by Professional Engineering license, IMechE, or other Engineering accreditation is a plus

Preferences:

  • Mastery level application of advanced engineering processes including CFD, FEA; use of ANSYS preferred

  • Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) certification, Green Belt minimum preferred
