Position Description:

Flowserve has a unique opportunity for a Precision Mechanical Assembler. The Assembler will run a one-person Flowserve repair site in the Kanai Peninsula Borough of Alaska, repairing mechanical seals used in heavy industrial settings. The Assembler will manage all aspects of the operation, including seals repair, order entry, inventory management, shipping & receiving, and facility maintenance. This is a challenging, multi-faceted position for a responsible, self-driven assembler.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical experience, preferably working with mechanical seals and pumping systems

  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings

  • Skilled with various hand and machine tools

  • Able to accurately use and read precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges

  • Computer savvy to work in Flowserve’s production resource management system, to use Microsoft Office, and to and collaborate with I.T. services to troubleshoot local hardware or network issues

  • Customer-service mindset

  • Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable work ethic with a personal commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, and frequently lift seals up to 25 lbs. Must have good vision. Must have a full range of hand and upper-body motion to work with tools and parts.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferences:

  • Mechanical Seal Experience

  • Experience with shipping & receiving and/or inventory management highly valued
