The position is for a high energy mid-career engineer experienced in the design and development of electronic and mechanical devices. Requires an individual capable of providing technical expertise for an IIoT product line focused on delivering products for industrial systems (e.g. chemical processing plants). The candidate must be able to be both a technical expert and support internal product delivery tasks such as technical sales/field training during commercialization phases. Practical or technical exposure in data communication systems, cloud technology, as well as chemical processes will provide an ideal foundation for this role. Individuals with graduate level education including Master’s in engineering, technology, or MBA are preferred. This is considered a growth role in a fast-growing global product line.
Must have applied knowledge in sensor devices and wireless communications.
Process, controls, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or chemical engineering foundation (BS degree). Must have working knowledge about chemical process plants, petroleum refineries, and/or water processing systems. Advanced degree is a plus.
Approximately 5 years of proven experience in or around industrial processes or developing sensor systems and products used for industrial processes.
Ability to work within a dynamic environment while maintaining focus on critical tasks.
Ability to demonstrate effective team communication skills.
Willingness and capability to work with international teams. Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally 10-20%.
Relates well to business/market driven technology development.
Must have basic project management knowledge and the ability to participate in planning, budgeting, and creating work breakdown structures.
Knowledge about product commercialization and related change management processes is a plus.
Knowledge about technical project management such as phase-gate processes and participating in WBS creation is a plus.
Proven ability to develop professional technical documentation and communication materials.
Software programming capability is a plus.
Experience with Cloud deployed systems and basic understanding of Microsoft Azure components is a plus.
Requires ability to participate in mechanical and fluid systems troubleshooting.
Proven experience with CAD tools.
Capable of quickly learning deep technical knowledge about specific technologies with little to no supervision.
Familiar with the classification of explosion proof or intrinsically safe devices.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Capable and willing to own their development and learning plan.
Has field and customer experience.
High level of emotional intelligence.
Strong sense of ownership and dedication to getting the job done and with all requirements completely met.
