Position Description:

The AMSS M&T Senior Project Manager is responsible for execution of a variety of high value, global AMSS R&D projects including leading and maintaining customer relationships where appropriate, aligning various stakeholders, securing project resources and ongoing support, accountability of various project budgets, resource coordination, project assignments and oversight, within scope, cost, and schedule.

The position report to the Manager of AMSS M&T Projects.

The individual must possess the ability to oversee and direct multiple simultaneous projects across all of the different AMSS Product Lines in accordance with the applicable M&T / R&D Policies.


v Managing and leading a portfolio of 5-7 projects delivering financial growth to AMSS

v Leading global project teams of 5-10 contributors each from various functions including R&D, M&T, Engineering, ComOps, Supply Chain, etc.

Principal Accountabilities:

v Support and lead each project team in capturing and documenting product and technology development needs, prioritizing them, as well as the chartering of them in the context of individual M&T projects or programs which can be forwarded to the Platform M&T Director and Manager PMO for approval.

v Ensure that individuals which are assigned to the project adequately plan and schedule project activities based on available resources, while looking for opportunities to leverage common technologies, components, and skill sets across the business

v Ensure that approved projects are integrated into the platform budgeting process, and that funds earmarked for M&T budgets are managed accordingly for each project.

v Prepare and present bi-weekly or monthly Project reviews as needed with the M&T Director and Manager PMO or other stakeholders. Maintain daily or weekly project calls for each of the projects assigned.

v Oversee the execution of approved M&T projects, to ensure that the applicable Flowserve policies and process guidelines are adhered to, that resources are allocated consistent with overall priorities, and that corrective actions are being taken within the project core teams to keep the overall scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives within target values

v Support the development of project management tools and continuous improvement:

Ø Supporting the development of a meaningful project charter for each project

Ø Ensuring the completeness of a business case justifying each project

Ø Ensuring Gate Reviews are conducted per the Gate Review Policy

Ø Ensuring project budgets reconcile with the overall approved budget and forecasted project spend

v Collaborates with functional areas in the supervision of project personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution

v Oversee execution of individual M&T projects per timeline, meeting targets and expectations

Position Requirements:


v Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical or previous research position

v Previous experience in dealing within a multinational organization

v Proven experience in dealing with a global business leading an organization to meet operational and strategic goals

v Moderate travel will be required.


v Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management

v Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget

v Excellent estimating, scheduling & budget management skills

v Ability to independently identify and resolve project issues

v Proven experience in influencing and leading

v Proven experience in risk management

v Proven experience in change management

v Proven experience in contract management preferred

v Excellent presentation, oral and written English language communication skills, including meeting and workshop facilitation experience

v Excellent team-building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

v Enthusiasm, positive energy; highly motivated

v Proficient in project management software (Primavera, Planview, Clarity, or others)

v Basic secondary language skills preferred (Italian, French, Spanish, etc.).


v Bachelor's degree MBA or other advanced degree preferred

v PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
