Understand role responsibilities and support manufacturing and facility operations through the competent execution of general maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Complete all assigned safety training on time and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Use knowledge of Safety Data Sheets for proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Make certain that all disposal drums and containers are properly labeled.
Daily inspect chip hoppers at each machine and dump in proper recycle container (brass, aluminum, steel) as required.
Daily check machine oil pans on all equipment and pump out as required; properly dispose of all waste oil.
Manage and properly dispose of all shop floor corrugate, trash and crates on a daily basis.
Regularly check all oily rag and sorbent drums throughout shop and properly dispose of as required.
Exchange paint booth drums as required; properly label and store in Haz-Mat Building.
Safely and regularly operate coolant evaporator to evaporate coolant; properly dispose of waste oil.
Separate trash from corrugate for proper disposal and safely operate cardboard compactor. Manage cardboard bales by neatly storing them in the warehouse yard.
Inspect and maintain coolant sumps on all machinery on a weekly basis by pumping out, cleaning or refilling as required (may need to be scheduled with manufacturing manager or supervisor).
Regularly scrub all shop floors and aisles with floor scrubber. Manually mop or broom areas where floor scrubber will not reach.
Maintain Hazardous Material Building. Organize and store all drums and containers in appropriate areas. Manage waste oil drum and skids. Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness and organization of Building.
Maintain scrap pallets and crates by neatly stacking and staging them for disposal in the warehouse yard.
Maintain warehouse yard in a neat, organized manner at all times.
Change out and maintain grease totes and area behind them. Clean up old or spilled grease as required.
Maintain charging and compactor areas in a neat, organized manner.
Replenish drinking water to coolers.
Regularly running parking lot sweeper over paved areas in the yard and parking lots.
Other non-technical facility related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Safety : Must have a safety first mindset. Follows all safety policies and procedures, and maintains a safe, organized work environment at all times. Immediately reports all safety observations, near-misses or other potential safety hazards.
Attendance and Dependability : Must be dependable and report to work on time as scheduled. Should be willing to work scheduled as well as unscheduled overtime as needed to support the business.
Character : Engaged, self-motivated team player who takes pride in quality and accomplishment. Must exhibit ethical behavior, integrity and respect for others. Should have a conscientious, can-do attitude and be relied upon to complete all work on time under minimal supervision.
Conduct : Represents oneself as well as the Department in a mature, professional manner. Maintains constructive, positive relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Communication : Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing to keep supervisor, team members or other departments informed of issues.
Corporate : Understands and supports organizational mission, goals and objectives.
High School diploma or GED.
Three-plus years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Good basic math, computer and reasoning skills.
Use of basic hand and power tools.
Knowledge of safe and proper cleaning procedures.
Shift hours: 2:30p - 11:00p (Monday - Friday)
Able to perform the physical requirements of the job. This includes physical exertion, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, working at heights, and working in awkward positions or tight areas; bend, stoop, reach, etc. as required in the performance of the general maintenance position.
Able to lift up to 50-pounds without mechanical assistance.
Work outdoors under all types of weather conditions.
Able to work in an un-air conditioned plant during the summer.
Able to shovel snow and spread surface treatment chemicals during snow events.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment such as a fork lift or floor scrubber.
