Based from the Manchester Quick Response Center (QRC), this is a mechanically biased role with some mixed duties that will involve electrical drives. The Precision Assembler main function is to execute a detailed, quality oriented and on time process for Dismantle-Clean-Inspection and Reassembly of any pump in the QRC. The Precision Assembler will
utilize standard tools and systems and will adhere to quality, safety and engineering procedures always under all circumstances. The duties will be executed in close coordination with the Workshop Supervisor and front office teams.
Hands on duty on the Dismantle-Clean-Inspection process of any pump in Local QRC assuming the objectives and policies related to Quality, On time Delivery and HSE.
Remove visible dirt, grit oil, grease and other foreign matter from pump product parts, prior to assembly.
Frequently apply primer and finish coatings to the exterior of pump products and parts using spray equipment.
Comply with daily usage of the required operating systems, manufacturing and quality processes. Must adhere to strict Quality / ISO and Safety guidelines.
Verify parts per bill of material and drawings.
Ability to operate various precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, Vernier, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) in a warehouse environment.
Ability to operate various hand tools, i.e. hydraulic torque wrench and fire torch.
Ability to perform non-destructive examination (Liquid Penetrant) for casting parts as applicable.
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and procedures.
Complete required reports and quality documents.
Function as part of a quality team and interface with inspectors on the team.
Ensure that before any disassembly (DCI process) the bill of materials and detailed drawings are available and reviewed.
Ensure all materials are available before executing the repair and posterior assembly.
Execute the repair as per the scope and routers given by the project coordinator to this effect.
Field based service interventions as required including Ex Areas.
Excellent attitude & leadership qualities to teach others & make independent decisions. Provide support for change,
motivating colleagues challenging stablished work processes collaboratively, in order to continuously improve methods and skills.
Maintain hand tools and shop floor in 6S manner after work.
The successful candidate will be a confident time-served and qualified mechanical technician, ideally with some knowledge of automation control and electrical components.
Must possess a high school diploma (with technical education preferred).
Demonstrated ability to use hand precision measuring instruments such as micrometers. Capable of calculating basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio and percent.
Must be willing to work overtime hours, especially during plant outages and scheduled turnarounds on weekends & holidays as required.
Fluent in English. Good oral and written communication skills.
Possess basic computer skills. Microsoft Office Applications Experience (i.e.: Excel, Word, etc.).
Ability to read/interpret cross sectional drawings, P&ID schematics correctly.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Full Driving License preferred.
