Management position guiding the Production Planning and Emergency Order team for aftermarket pump parts in support of Flowserve’s core pump customers. Critical aspects of the position include multi-site production planning, close collaboration with purchasing for supplier capabilities and performance, as well as a savvy with MRP systems, specifically Oracle R12, with SAP on the horizon.
Organize the department along appropriate skills, manage assignments, develop employees, and continually maintain and improve morale in a fast paced, customer centric environment.
Employ excellent collaboration skills to enable productive planning and production at three production centers and multiple suppliers.
Guide the department in technical efforts; a technical knowledge of pump technology is desired, but not required. A background in mechanical systems, mechanical engineering and/or machining enables this leader to be a check and balance on planning efforts.
Possess or have capacity to acquire a high competency with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems, Excel, and “order through shipment” vision to enable both team performance and planning improvement opportunities.
Working with the team, create and maintain a continuous improvement culture by developing sound, repeatable business processes and implementing tactical and strategic improvement in focused, well documented activities.
Lead the team in times of critical customer need.
A bachelor’s degree is required, preferred degree within in a related field, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics.
Five (5) years of experience related to production planning.
Ability to travel as required, principally within the US, may include international travel.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required to maintain smooth day-to-day operations and to keep management and peers informed.
Flexibility to work additional hours as needed at times of peak demand or customer need.
Previous management experience in manufacturing environments.
Previous planning experience with MRP systems in a multi-site production environment
Familiarity with machining and mechanical processes involving large, high tolerance components and assemblies.
Bi-lingual capability - Spanish is a plus.
