Flowserve Corporation Manager, Commercial Operations in Nagar, India

The role of this manager will be to drive the responsiveness of their assigned Commercial Operations team to enable us to grow both our FCO and Flowserve bookings overall. This position will be responsible for building a highly responsive and customer driven group. The group will be focused on providing our Flowserve sales organization, customers, distributors and 3 rd party representative the most technically sound and competitive quotation solutions for all pertinent inquiries in addition to transferring to our operations complete and correct order entry files for execution.
v Drive timely responsiveness to all viable quotation opportunities.
v Manage the review of all valve orders for completeness and correctness and assist in resolving any issues to insure proper order entry.
v Approve commercial terms of purchase orders and/or contracts including SAP generation and approval along with the resolution of any respective terms and conditions issues
v Implement and oversee a continual training program to insure
o Team members are properly applying their technical expertise and commercial knowledge during quotation preparation. Quoting SMART on projects.
o Are updated on our techniques for utilizing any of the respective configurators / sizing and selection tools required for proposal generation
o Are learning to apply our best practices in sizing, selecting and quoting the best suited Flowserve FCO products
o Insure applicable industry standards are applied correctly
o Any sales schools conducted at the operation are well coordinated, informative and beneficial to all attendees (Flowserve direct or 3 rd party sales personnel)
v Work with sales group and operations management to provide accurate, timely and detailed bookings forecasts and project tracking updates as assigned by Commercial Operations director
v Work closely and develop strong business relationships with the key members of our operations, sales and engineering management teams to help drive the success of our FCO organization
v Manage and assist in developing proper quotation guidelines with respect to any applicable contracts, lead times, documentation packages and/or Inspection and Testing Plans
v Continually analyze and track the results of our pricing and quotation practices including the generation of win / loss quotation hit rates to enhance our effectiveness
v Track, monitor, and review the performance of your individual direct reports through our performance management review process including assigning measurable goals and focused accountabilities. Monitor the progress for each team member throughout the year per our HR guidelines and processes.
v Moderate and attend meetings and conference calls and provide activity updates and reports as assigned by Commercial Operations Director
v Work closely with our outside sales organization to enhance our communication, project pursuit, collaboration and overall selling efforts
v Develop and maintain strong working relationship with fellow CO management staff members both regionally and globally to assist in better leveraging our FCO organization’s entire portfolio of products and capabilities to improve our bookings pursuit and quotation efforts.
v Comply with Flowserve goals, objectives and policies and manage your respective team members to adhere to the same standards.
v Provide feedback and participate in commercialization of new products.
v Develop Cost Models for valves manufactured in MMN plant and optimize the same.
v To perform this role successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential accountability satisfactorily. The list below is representative of the knowledge, skill, experience and abilities needed to meet the responsibilities of this position
o Bachelor’s Degree (B.E.) from a four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o 10 years + of successful inside / outside sales experience with Flowserve FCO product line(s)
o Knowledge and experience serving the variety of process control markets associated with the assigned products and / or region
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
o Detailed oriented
o Proven track records of completing assignments as requested and in a timely manner
o Basic knowledge of commercial issues including payment terms, shipping terms, and contract review
o Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Internet along with the ability and willingness to learn how to use other or new business software packages as required by the role
