This position will include being involved in a 24-month rotation of assignments; 6 months in each of the below areas. Within each rotation you will learn many of the key aspects of world class manufacturing. Your rotations will all take place within the Raleigh, NC facility and could involve both domestic and international travel. Upon successful completion, you will be placed in the area which you have shown the best performance and/or based on the needs of the business.
Commercial Operations/Order Fulfillment:
Establish basic Raleigh product knowledge (current and heritage brands)
Introduction to nuclear and commercial products
Review customer specifications in order to make valve or actuator selection
Work directly with assigned customer accounts
Participate in sourcing strategy determination (understand Raleigh’s supply and manufacturing options)
Introduction to reviewing Legal and Commercial terms and conditions
Introduction to Raleigh product cost drivers and margin targets
Introduction to Raleigh pricing strategy and quoting tools
Coordinate proposals across multiple FLS manufacturing sites
Lead and participate in project pursuit calls with the sales team
Develop inputs for the sales approval process for large quotations
Develop customer proposals
Review and validate customer purchase orders before sending to order entry
Supply Chain Management:
Where possible obtain three quotes for each RFQ, evaluating price, quality and delivery
Maintain Quotation folder in an easily understood manner
Ensure that responsible buyers are made aware of completed quotations and that where possible, quotations are archived electronically and in Avante for future use
Manage outside processing commodities, interfacing with planning department and suppliers to satisfy customer deliveries
Serve as expeditor to satisfy internal and external customer demands
Project risk management by facilitating cross-functional risk review workshops - Assist other departments identify, assess, and take action on project execution risks.
Change Order Management - Assess customer requested change orders to determine time, schedule, cost, and business risk impacts.
Project Planning - Assist other PMs by developing and maintaining project schedules, to include capacity analysis.
Corporate project reporting - There are new requirements for corporate reporting that are not currently staffed. The JMO would learn and utilize the corporate PM reporting tools to support these requirements.
Kickoff Meetings/Vendor Alignment Meetings - Assist with the planning and execution of project kickoff meetings.
Operations Management (3 rotations)
Routing process including rework
Basic machine training
Tool selection, set-up and fixtures
Maintenance program and machine repair/troubleshoot participation
Create and issue routings with senior ME oversight
Rotation through focus factory valve/parts scheduling with Planner
Master Scheduling, S&OP and Capacity Planning
Sales budgetary forecasting and risk/mitigation review
Plan a specific planner code with senior supervisor oversight
Rotation with supervisors through focus factories with supervisors (Receiving through Shipping)
Welding 101 with Metallurgical Process Control (MPC)
LEAN 101 with Black Belt
MRB, GEMBA & Safety Committee participation
Supervise a focus factory with senior supervisor oversight (day to day)
KPI report outs/action plans
Performance assessments of high/low performers
Must have, or be graduating with, a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing disciplines.
Candidates must be eligible for full-time employment in the United States without restrictions.
