Position Description:

The automation and control technician is responsible for making sure all control products and parts are manufactured, assembled, and tested per Flowserve and Customer requirements as defined per issued job. This position will work semi independently to complete TMCBV product orders in accordance with production schedule and serve as the functional test point for design and operation compliance.

Accountabilities

• Test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect valve actuator and control devices per instructions given via routings, EIs, OPs, PCPs, RMPs, technical standards, drawings, and manufacture’s IOM.

• Resolve day-to-day production issues (may result in calling in other departments).

• Operate in accordance to production schedule and provide updates cross functionally on product that fall out of schedule or at risk.

• Flexibility to adjust workload and direction of team to reprioritize, and complete, critical orders impacting daily schedule adjustments.

• Assemble and functional test all control product w/accessories to QMS, QF-71 FAT CHECKLIST, FWO, EI, customer and product instructions.

• Independently Resolve/trouble shoot common issues within control assembly

• Participate in CIP and safety activities as asked/needed and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures.

• Identifies method improvements, identifies cost reductions, identifies scrap and rework reduction ideas, identifies set-up and process time reduction ideas.

• Actively engages in the 6S program to maintain assembly area “showplace” mentality

• Train others on control assemblies and test requirements

• Will be required to work directly with customer inspectors.

• Works overtime when requested.

Position Requirements:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Good oral and written communication

· Good organizational skills

· Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel

· Skilled use of measuring and inspection equipment.

· The safe use of a wide variety of hand and power tools, electronic and electric test equipment, and piping/tubing fabrication equipment as related to field and shop work.

· Ability to work independently with limited hands on direction

· Ability to independently interpret and work from wiring and mechanical drawings

· Ability to independently work in both metric and US standard dimensions as required

· Ability to use digital volt ohm meter for troubleshooting and calibration of ohms, voltage and amperage signals including AC power voltage

· Ability to install and troubleshoot circuits using schematics/drawings and various test equipment

· Ability to install and troubleshoot problems on single and three phase AC motors

Preferences:

· Hazardous Location Installations -Div 1 CL 1,etc

· Basic Electronics tools background

· Digital multimeter

· Loop calibrator

· Wire Terminations

Understanding of Single and Three Phase Electrical AC electrical systems

Pneumatic Controls:

· Rigid tube routing, bending, basic practices

· Connections using swage-style fittings

Manufacturing:

· Assembly and Testing procedures used on valves internally and ability to diagnose functional problems.

· Basic understanding of the Assembly process

· Basic understand of Valve marking requirements
